Adam and Eve were given the freedom of choice; they had the freedom to obey or disobey God’s instruction regarding eating the forbidden fruit. The foundation of his creation is freewill. His children are given absolute freedom to choose. They can even reject God. God will never interfere in our decisions out of his absolute respect and love for us. So God restricts himself to do anything without us requesting him to intervene in our lives. Prayer is therefore letting Him know that we need His help, giving him the opportunity to intervene in our lives. Therefore, the person who prays, requests at his or her own free will, for God to intervene, with the confidence that he will listen and is able to help, for he is not only omniscient but omnipotent and all loving.
Lord Jesus said, “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” Luke 11:9,10.
The Incarnated Christ in flesh prayed many times while he lived in this world. He urged us to pray always and not give up (Luke 18:1), and also to watch and pray. The Bible accounts him praying early mornings alone and many instances with his disciples.
The Bible is full of prayers by Priests, Kings, Prophets, widows and normal people like you and me. So let us pray and overcome the enemies and be blessed.
They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony (Rev 12:11). The only way to triumph against the evil forces that try to harm us is to take the blood of Jesus in prayer.
Our prayers and supplications result in immediate response from God.
We read in the book of Daniel how God answered his prayers and the warfare that resulted against the principalities that work against the nations and God’s angels.
While Daniel was praying, an angel came and spoke to him: “As soon as you began to pray, a word went out, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed.” Daniel 9:23
“Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 3 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me for twenty-one days.
Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me because I was detained there with the king of Persia. Daniel 10:13
God responded to Daniel’s prayer almost immediately. But opposing satanic forces hindered the answers. He was not aware of the spiritual warfare that happened against God’s angels and fallen satanic demons. This is what happens when we pray.
Lord Jesus used the widow’s story to tell us to pray persistently and let us pray until we see the change. Will you join us as a prayer partner? Will you stand in the gap for our nation Canada?
