Pray for persecuted churches, abused individuals, families, mental health issues, closing churches, youth influences, Israel, and armed forces.
Seek forgiveness, deliverance, protection, and revival in these areas.
Ask for wisdom, unity, and God's intervention in various societal issues.
I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night – but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day.”
Psalm 139:11-12
The claim that God is Omniscient means that he is all-knowing. God is all-knowing in the sense that he is aware of our past, present, and future. Nothing takes him by surprise. His knowledge is total. So, if he knows everything about us, why should we pray? God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female (Gen 1:27).
We are in fact created like Him. We are His offspring. We have been allowed to live freed from any forceful interference of Him. One may ask the question, where was God when Adam and Eve sinned? Why did he not come and stop them?
God has given us laws for our blessings, and He expects us to follow them but he never forces anyone to follow these laws.
"In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy."
1 Timothy 2:8
God loves to talk to us through prayer. There are many expectations of God discussed in the bible about prayer. The Bible says we need to pray according to God’s will, with a sincere heart, with humility, with an attitude of thanksgiving, with a forgiving spirit, with perseverance/persistence, boldly expecting to receive in the Name of Jesus Christ.
1.
First, we should have a desire to seek God, and that is through prayer God talks to us. We come to his presence with an intention to receive forgiveness and to put away all sin. God wants to hear sincerity in our prayer, not pride. As we pray, let’s be determined to stay humble before the Lord. God extends mercy to everyone who comes to Him in repentance. God is concerned with the heart of a person. We should admit our guilt and confess our sins in our conversation with God. Having no bitter feeling against any person; harboring no unforgiving spirit, while pleading pardon for our own sins.
2.
Secondly, we enter into His Presence with boldness, faith, and hope relying on the Promises of God. Petitioning to God without doubt in our hearts when all things around us is contrary will increase our intimacy with God and it takes us into the threshold of victory.
3.
Thirdly, Bible says we need to pray according to God’s will, we are made sensitive to his will for us as we prayerfully read and meditate on the Word of God. Even as we pray, God exposes our spiritual condition and brings our desires into conformity with his will.
4.
Finally, In approaching God to ask for new blessings, we should never forget to return thanks for blessings already granted. Doubtless one reason why so many of our prayers lack power is because we have neglected to return thanks for blessings already received. Returning thanks for blessings already received increases our faith and enables us to approach God with new boldness and new assurance.
